Halaqa

Weekly halaqa, every Saturday at 1:15pm (whether in person or virtual)
Once a month Halaqa Hangout occurs on a Friday (halaqa followed by an activity)

Activities

Once a month big event, usually occurs on a Saturday

Outreach

Every other month, MYSTL Girls collaborates with another local masjid
This builds unity and sisterhood amongst the girls across different masajid/towns
Collaboration includes halaqa and/or activity

Community Service

Every other month, MYSTL Girls gives back to the community by volunteering at various local non-for-profit organizations
Example of different organizations: Beit ul Maal (House of Goods) or AlBaraka Food Pantry, etc.

Aleezah Mufti

President

Salam! My name is Aleezah. I love helping my peers find the opportunity to learn and grow, and MYSTL enables me to do this. Outside of MYSTL, I enjoy meeting new people, playing basketball, and participating in volunteer work. In the future, I’d like to pursue a career as an adolescent psychiatrist and continue to impact the youth in the same way that I have the opportunity to with MYSTL.

My name is Imaan and I am Vice President of MYSTL girls this year. I love to stay involved in the community and help out wherever I can. I am always working on trying to better myself and MYSTL helps me in doing so.

Kewuser Jemal

Treasurer

Salam, I’m Kewuser Jemal. I’m currently a junior at Al Salam Day School. I am the Treasurer of MYSTL girls, meaning that I handle all financial aspect of this youth group. I enjoy learning math as I find it easy to understand. This is my first year working with MYSTL girls and I’m very excited to help plan out our new and upcoming events InshAllah!

Hello! I’m Sihaam, I’m a tenth grader and my hobbies include finding new things to help me relax for those rare days where I don’t have something to do.

Raneem Khalil

I am a junior in highschool and I’m someone who loves to do acts of kindness and give back to my community. Being a part of MYSTL Board is a great opportunity and helps me bring out the best in me. I am involved in the community service club at my school as well. I also love art and graphic design.

Aleena Shaik

Salam! My name is Aleena Shaik. I am apart of the PR team. I make flyers, maintain social media accounts, and help advertise our events. MYSTL helps connect muslim girls in our community, so I love being apart of the cause. Outside of MYSTL, I like to read and eat ice cream.

Serene Khalil

Outreach Coordinator

I’m a senior who is passionate about helping others and upbringing the young Muslim girls in St. Louis. I also enjoy playing soccer, painting, and hanging out with the people I love.

Hi! My name is Zainab. I’m currently a senior in high school. I love to be involved in my community and help out wherever. Outside of Mystl I enjoy reading and painting.

I have been apart of mystl for 2 years now but have attended the events since middle school. I am president of msa at my school. I am from Bangladesh and I play volleyball. Some things I love are sushi and jamba juice and I have a crazy obsession with books; my biggest accomplishment is that I read 220 books last year.

Mariam Malik

Monthly Committee Head

My name is Mariam Malik and I am a senior in high school. My role on mystl is to plan events every month that the Muslim youth can enjoy. I also work with outreach to conduct and coordinate events with outside organizations to help people in need.

Salam, my name is Rameen and I am president of mini mystl. Outside of mystl I enjoy reading and going on walks. I believe it is very important to start learning Islam the earliest you can which is why I chose mini mystl.
