Halaqa

Join our weekly Halaqa every Saturday at 1:20 pm in person every Saturday in the Dar Ul Salam Mosque’s Iqra Library!

Activities

Spice up your Fridays with our Monthly Halaqa Hangout – where we discuss, listen, and do exciting activities! Our bigger monthly events normally occur on Saturdays.

Outreach

Every other month MYSTL collabs with different Mosques to create unity and sisterhood with other Muslims youth across various Masjids. Together we engage in enlightening halaqaat (study circles) and build strong bonds with other Muslim communities.

Community Service

Every other month, MYSTL Girls give back to the community by volunteering at various local not-for-profit organizations. Examples of different organizations we worked with are Beit ul Maal (House of Goods), AlBaraka Food Pantry, Islamic Relief, and Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition.

I have been apart of mystl for 4 years now but have attended the events since middle school. I am president of msa at my school. I am from Bangladesh and I play volleyball. Some things I love are sushi and jamba juice and I have a crazy obsession with books; my biggest accomplishment is that I read 220 books last year

Zoya Shah

Co President

Assalamu Alaikum! My name is Zoya Shah! I am a senior in high school. This is my second year as Co-Pres and I am excited to work with MYSTL Girls again! I am passionate about helping my community and giving back to people in need. Outside of MYSTL I enjoy traveling, going to the gym, reading, and spending time with family and friends!

Asalaamu Alykum! My name is Aisha Muhammud. I am the treasurer for year of 24-25. I currently am a senior at Parkway West High School. I am also a Hafiza of the Quran. Reading, taking walks outside, and reviewing the Quran are things I do frequently in my free time.

I’m on MYSTL Board this year and the role that I will be fulfilling is secretary, meaning that I’ll be in charge of sending emails and taking attendance. Assalamu Alaikum! My name is Yusra Khan and I am a sophomore. My role on the MYSTL board for the 24-25 school year is Public Relations. This means I will be creating the flyers for events and sending out announcements! Looking forward to a fantastic year, inshAllah!

Dema Hamed

Halaqa Committee Head

Assalaamu Alykum! My name is Dema Hamed and I am a junior! This is my first year on MYSTL Board (total 2 years on MYSTL) and so far I am loving it! I am a Palestinian and frequently travel there. Traveling back home is a dose of reality and a reminder to myself that Islam always comes first. Outside of MYSTL, I enjoy sports, reading, TV, and cooking/baking.

Anum Khan

Webmaster

Asalamualikum! My name is Anum Khan, and I’m a junior at Parkway South! This is my second year with MYSTL, and I’m thrilled to step into the role of Webmaster. My aim during my time in MYSTL is to contribute to my community and Inshallah create a positive impact for the future. In my free time, I love horse riding, hiking with my family, and diving into as many books as I can. Looking forward to another amazing year in MYSTL!

I’m Co President with Abeer Shaikh in Mini Mystl and I aspire with my team and friends to introduce the younger generation in what mini mystl is about. Salam, my name is Abeer Shaikh and I am co president of mini mystl! I’m 16 years old, and I go to Parkway South high and I love working with kids, and I like to play tennis. My favorite drink is sprite and I love hanging out with my friends and family! I’m Co-President with alia alhaider and our goal is to reach the muslim youth with stories about Islam, helping them reach the right path at a young age!
