The primary goal throughout the admissions process is to provide information about the school while learning as much as possible about the prospective student. The School considers the benefit of both the applicant as an individual as well as the ADS community as a whole.

1. Parents meet with Principal and tour the School.

The Principal will introduce the School to parents and inform them of the mission and vision of ADS.  Parents will learn more about our program and the curriculum taught at the School. This will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions and discuss anything with the Principal. The tour will provide parents a glimpse of School environment and learning experience.  If you’re interested in scheduling a meeting and tour of the school, please call us at (636) 394–8986.

2. Completion of the Application for Admissions.  This fee will be waived from February 10 to March 10, 2017. Beginning March 11, 2017, there is a process fee of $50.
($100 for Applicants after April 30, 2017)

If interested, parents will be asked to complete a short application for admissions and return it to the administrative staff for processing.

3. For new students entering grades 1-8,  students will take a grade-appropriate assessment test. ($50 fee)

All potential students in grades 1- 8 are assessed in Language Arts and Mathematics based on their grade level.

4. Parents provide transcript from previous school or a copy of the past two years of report cards, if applicable.

5a. Students entering grades 6-12 are asked to complete and submit student essays.

  • Students may submit essay answers by emailing them to, or by submitting a printed version of the document to the main office (519 Weidman Rd. Ballwin, MO 63011)

5b. Students entering grades 6-12 will be asked to come in for an interview with the admissions committee.

  • The essay questions will need to be submitted to the admissions committee at least three days prior to the interview. A date for the interview will be scheduled by the front office based on dates made available by the admissions committee.

6. Parents receive notification of decision regarding admission.

Students are selected from qualified applicants on the following basis:

  • Scores on placement test or similar evaluation
  • Transcript of grades and test scores
  • Citizenship as demonstrated by previous school records
  • Interview by the admissions team

The Principal will make the decision after screening the qualified applicants and considering space availability.

If all other factors are equal, an applicant with a siblings already enrolled will be accepted over other candidates. However, this policy does not guarantee automatic admission.

6. Parents complete enrollment process and submit payment fees.
